This year was a big year for TUTU as it achieved 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status with the IRS and a brand new professionally designed website and online registration process. A few weeks before the 5K, a fundraiser was held at a local Chipotle restaurant where the community really showed up to support our great cause. A cool retro-themed event welcomed in the largest crowd in the history of the program and, with that, a record $8,200 in funds raised / donated.
Our logo was decorated in a new color theme this year and a top-notch timing team was brought in to give participants the most accurate time possible and an overall high-quality 5K experience – all participants received medals too! 2015 raised the bar as far as funds raised for our beneficiaries totaling $4,200.
This year, a key element to a fun 5K was added: free t-shirts! With that came the most successful year to date in terms of money received, totaling $3,900. Banners and signs were added at the home base and around the course with Tone Up for Tune Ups new original logo.
For its second year, the Tone Up for Tune Ups event continued on the path to help those in need. Significant website upgrades helped to increase exposure and a partnership with a local fitness club was established. This year’s 5K was held in the same manner as the first year and $3,300 was raised / donated.
In the inaugural year of Tone Up for Tune Ups $3,500 was raised to support families within our community with car repairs. The event was enjoyed by friends and family from all parts of Southeastern Michigan and was a huge success for the first year.
