Equine Mortality is a life insurance policy for your horse, which will pay you in the event an accident, disease, or illness causes his death. It is an "All-Risk" policy, which will pay you for death by any cause, including theft, subject to certain exclusions which are listed in your insurance policy. Equine Mortality is the "core" of your insurance policy, with medical endorsements coming secondary.
As an addendum to their mortality coverage, Great American is now offering a FREE $3,500 emergency colic surgery coverage endorsement to all qualified horses written through their company. That means in the event your horse needs colic surgery, Great American will cover up to $3,500 of the reasonable costs incurred, at no additional premium to you.
