Sr Process Safety Engineer-Chemical Comp. - Central Texas

Salary up to 100k to 120+k based on exp.
• Prior positions should include 10-15 years of plant process, maintenance, or project engineering work to effectively interact with plant management, including Safety, Maintenance, Operations, and Engineering.

Essential Job Duties:
• Maintain protection of the environment and the health and safety of our employees, customers, and the communities in which we operate and/or transport our products as our highest priority.
• Establish, develop, and implement the Process Safety Management, Risk Management Plan and
Responsible Care (collectively referred to as “PSM” programs below) for the Houston Operations plants.
• Develop and issue an annual PSM Activity Plans for Houston Operations.
• Develop and manage a budget for PSM activities.
• Provide on-going reporting of PSM program status to plant management.
• Lead the monthly PSM Focus Meeting to update Plant Management on the status of key PSM objectives.
• Develop, update, and track action plans pertaining to PSM tasks.
• Arrange for contract services support for PSM related activities.
• Communicate employee concerns relating to PSM activities to appropriate supervision and management.
• Develop and review PSM procedures to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.
• Keep all PSM procedures and guidelines up-to-date.
• Perform formal and informal audits of the PSM elements to ensure compliance to all applicable codes and standards.
• Coordinate HES Risk Engineering and Insurance Department activities and technical issues.
• Maintain current knowledge of company / government rules and regulations.
• Provide consultation and assistance related to other areas of knowledge and expertise (i.e., electrical, mechanical integrity, etc.).
• Work with site Management to ensure that Process Safety and Risk Management activity requirements are in place, and are being tracked at all levels of the organization.

Qualifications:
• Bachelors Degree Chemical Engineering. Other engineering disciplines will be considered based upon relevant experience.
• Prior positions should include 10-15 years of plant process, maintenance, or project engineering work to effectively interact with plant management, including Safety, Maintenance, Operations, and Engineering.
• Requires in depth knowledge of OSHA, RMP, Responsible Care, and company standards relating to process safety management.
• High proficiency in Microsoft applications (such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read, write and speak in English
• Physical requirements – Must be able to lift 40 lbs, climb ladders and stairs. Walking, bending, stooping is required. Must be able to wear personal protective equipment including the use of a respirator. Must be able to respond to visual and audible alarms.

Additional Desired Qualifications:
• Working knowledge of PHA-Pro or equivalent software
• Working knowledge of Fault-Tree analysis and LOPA
