Salary Target: Up to 115k , 120k + Bonus

The Process Control Engineer will be an integral member of the Process Engineering group implementing and supporting automated solutions that will drive the successful execution of process control strategic initiatives –control system compliance with regulated codes and standards, ensuring plant assets and infrastructure are in reliable and supportable condition, identifying and implementing solutions to optimize plant assets.
∙ Design, develop and implement process controls and automation projects involving automation systems and PC network technologies (DCS, PLC, Safety Systems, Data Acquisition systems, APC).
∙ Assist with the development and implementation of standard engineering practices regarding DCS alarm management and safety system best practices.
∙ Optimize and automate plant controls via automation techniques (loop tuning) and Advanced Process Control applications with a focus on improving facility costeffectiveness and plant production capacity.
∙ APC project role consisting of technology evaluation, process modeling design, engineering controls specification, implementation and ongoing maintenance of application.
∙ Position is required to work with plant management, engineers, and contractors and to provide expert guidance; leadership and assistance to facility Control System Specialists (upgrade projects, troubleshooting, etc.)
∙ Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering required. Minimum 10 years’ experience.
∙ Excellent technical, communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with other departments outside of the Process Engineering group.
∙ Incumbent must be selfmotivated, responsive and proactive. Ability to define problems, identify opportunities and develop solutions.
∙ The incumbent must be team and results oriented, with the ability to implement and ensure the success of new technology improvements.
∙ Proven record leading process control projects through design and field implementation.
∙ Knowledge of process manufacturing field instrumentation, technology and processes.
∙ Possess a high level of technical accuracy and a deep understanding of process control schemes and process unit equipment (distillation, pump/compressor, etc.).
∙ Comprehensive proficiency for developing, defining and implementing instrumentation and control strategies around automation and safety systems.
∙ Ability to design and implement basic and advanced control schemes as well as complex sequence logic.
Preferred Skills, Education, and Experience:
∙ Previous plant experience in the petrochemical industry in the area of automation engineering is required. Experience in Polypropylene facilities (Spheripol and Unipol Technologies) is beneficial.
∙ Proven experience and proficiency with DCS systems (Honeywell, Foxboro, Yokogawa, Dow Mod5).
∙ Proven experience and proficiency with SIS systems and logic solvers (Honeywell, Triconex).
∙ Proven experience and proficiency with PLC systems (Allen Bradley, Modicon).
∙ Experience with the modeling and controls aspect of APC applications (Aspen, Rockwell, Dow, Pavillion) is beneficial.
∙ Understanding of Alarm Management and SIS standards.
∙ Experience in PHA, LOPA, PSSR and RCA studies.
∙ Possess a strong understanding of process control performance on company profitability and be able to communicate that message across all levels of the organization.
