For many patients changing weather in fall, when the temperature drops, is the time for asthma exacerbation. There has not been enough time for the body to get used to cooler weather and it induces a spasm of airway tubes leading to cough spell and asthma attacks. It is good to be protected from cold when the weather turns cold. In many patients with asthma cold can bring an attack of asthma. At times, it is the cool air they inhale that brings on an attack. Sometimes having a protection in front of nose and mouth to reduce the inhalation of chilly air would help.
