During my 36 years of practice as an allergist, many parents have asked me “the question of when my child will grow out of milk allergy? This is a condition that affects 3% of children, and the parents like to know the natural course of milk allergy. Wood et al (2013) found that by the age of five years, half of the children grew out of their milk allergy, and another 20% could have milk contained in baked products. This is important finding as we do not really need to drink milk after five years of age, but we need to eat baked products containing milk.
