Low-fat diet is the way to lower weight

Many of us are confused with the conflicting reports on different diets and weight loss. While lower total calorie intake is important to prevent obesity, research by Hooper, L. et al (2012) has shown that greater reduction in fat intake is associated with greater weight loss. The authors found that lower weight, body-mass index, and lower waist circumference were associated with lower fat intake. <http://www.bmj.com/content/345/bmj.e7666>
