Allergy does runs in the family. Many parents want to know how early an allergy test be done. Some parents are anxious to find out if an allergic reaction be prevented by doing some tests. We do not recommend doing any test for allergy in anticipation of an allergy in the future. Tests are recommended if the baby develops symptoms of allergy. If the baby develops eczematous rashes early, and if the parents have milk allergy, allergy tests for milk can be done at any age, based on the clinical correlation, to avoid milk. In that case avoidance of milk can reduce the chance of flare-up of eczema and other allergic symptoms.
