Contact urticaria means hives in which agents such as plant products, raw fruits, vegetables, seafood, when in contact such as in occupation, cause hives. In children, contact with pet saliva, and in housewives, contact with detergents, soaps and lotions are the usual culprits. The most useful measure will be to identify the contact allergen, and stay away from contact if possible.
