Physicians have traditionally recommended general health checks with the goal of early detection of diseases and attaining a better life outcome. A recent study by Krogsboll, L.T. et al (2012) suggested that general health checks had no effect on mortality, work absence, or disability. The authors recommend that moneys be spent not on healthy physicals as they do not contribute to lower mortality or morbidity. What are your thoughts on this subject?
