There are many conflicting reports on the value of different types of food in maintaining good health. The question of whether inclusion of olive oil and nuts in your diet (Meditereranean Diet) reduce heart disease was addressed by Estruch, R. et al (2013). The authors reported that among persons at high for heart disease “a Mediterranean diet supplemented with extra-virgin olive oil or nuts reduced the incidence of major cardiovascular events,” meaning that it is good for your health. Add some olive oil, add some nuts, thus add some pleasurable days to your healthy life.
