Beneficail Effect of Green Coffee Extract

There has been increasing interest on behalf of patients about the effects of consuming green coffee extract. Green coffee been extract possesses higher concentration of chlorogenic acid in coffee. Chlorogenic acid in research studies has been found to have blood pressure lowering effect, and also effect on inhibiting fat accumulation, and antioxidant activities. I have not come across any publication citing drug interactions with green coffee extract. There are reported association between coffee intake and adverse pregnancy outcomes, including miscarriage, preterm birth, impaired fetal growth and development, and of fetal anemia. As far as diabetes is concerned high coffee intake have been associated with reduced risk for type 2 diabetes and impaired glucose tolerance indicating a beneficial effect.
