Our Holiday Inn
Express Ocala-Silver Springs is the closest hotel to the Silver River State Park, a 4,600 acre
wonderland for the all nature lovers out there. The park next to our hotel has
more than 10 distinct natural habitats, dozens of sparkling, mineral-rich
springs and miles of well-maintained trails. Visitors can canoe down the
crystal clear river, hike or bike along one of the scenic trails, or just sit
and watch for the wide variety of native birds and wildlife that make the
Silver River State Park their home. One of the most fascinating features
for most visitors are the wild monkeys that live along the Silver River and can
sometimes be spotted in the park.
The Silver River picnic area features three large pavilions with
BBQ grills that may be rented for group outings. A beautiful venue for family
reunions, birthday parties, or even weddings, the picnic area provides shelter
on sunny days, plenty of seating, and a playground for the youngsters.
For overnight stays, the park has a full facility campground and 10 luxury
cabins. There is also a primitive campground for use by organized groups
(scouts, church groups, etc.), however, with our hotel just down the road from
the Silver River State Park, there is no need to rough it if you don’t need to.
The Silver River State Park is home to a pioneer cracker village
and the Silver River Museum and Environmental Education Center. The center is
operated by the Marion County School District in cooperation with the park and
is open to the public on weekends and holidays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00. p.m.
Admission to the Museum is $2.00 per person. Children under 6 are free. For
more information please visit Silver River Museum website by clicking here.
The main entrance to Silver River State Park is located east of
Ocala, one mile south of our Holiday Inn Express and Suites of Silver Springs,
on State Road 35.
