World Class Golfing

Only minutes from the world-famous Black Diamond Ranch, our Inverness, Florida hotel is ideally placed to begin your Florida golfing vacation.  Florida is famous for its mild winter climate which is perfect for golfing. With acres of green fairways and beautiful, manicured landscaping as far as the eye can see, you can get lost in your game and also in the stunning natural beauty of Citrus County’s outdoors.

The Black Diamond Ranch golf club, nearby our Inverness hotel, was named one of America’s top 100 golf golf clubs by Golf Digest for 22 years running.  It is a private course which allows non-member play on select areas.  Black Diamond is home to the John Jacobs Golf School. The course was designed in the late 80′s by Tom Fazio and is shaped by its previous use as a limestone quarry.  Excavation of the quarry left towering 80-ft jagged rock cliffs, sunken pits which became lakes, and shifting topography.  Through the passing of time and thoughtful reshaping of the landscape, Fazio transformed this landscape into a breathtaking course where lush natural foliage and visually stimulating limestone features frame brilliant green fairways and ponds.

The Black Diamond course actually consists three courses; The QuarryThe Ranch, and The Highlands. The Quarry is an 18 Hole Par 72 course. The Ranch is likewise 18 Holes, Par 72. The Highlands is a 3500-yard, par-36 course. Other Citrus County Golf Course are provided below.
