Partners in Education

The Florida Horse Park offers an ever expanding array of educational programs covering everything from driving to basic horsemanship.

The Park is developing partnerships with a variety of educational institutions and equine professionals to offer classes and programs for both adults and children. If you or your organization are interested in getting involved with the Park, please email or submit your inquiry here.

Because Marion County has more horses per capita than anywhere else in the United States, we have a responsibility to the animals which contribute so much to our state's economy, our history, our national identity, and our quality of life to educate the next generation of horse men and women. The Florida Horse Park continues to seek opportunities for equine education for young people as well as continuing education for horse owners and caretakers.

Currently the Florida Horse Park is taking part in the following educational partnerships:

Central Florida Community College Equine Studies Program
The Park offers hands-on educational opportunities to students participating in the Equine Studies Program at CFCC. Currently, students use the Park to learn about event organizing, but there are plans to continue to develop the relationship so that the students can take advantage of the Park's facilities, knowledgeable volunteers, and staff.

Florida Horse Park Polo Club
The Florida Horse Park, in partnership with the Polo Training Foundation and Polo Excursions, organizes several educational events per year to develop new and better polo players including Umpire Clinics and New Polo Player Clinics. Lessons are also available by contacting Craig Creamer, Polo Excursion at 352-978-POLO(7656). For more information visit Polo Training Foundation.

The Training Level 3-Day
During The Main Event in November and the Festival of the Horse in April, the Park will offer a Training Level 3-Day. The Training Level 3-Day (or Half-Star) was developed by the USEF to provide education and exposure to riders looking to begin competing at the international level. The Park will provide lectures and special sessions for those participating in this event.

Other Opportunities
The Florida Horse Park offers a variety of clinics and schooling days throughout the year. In the past, we have offered clinics by renowned equestrians including Chester Weber, Ann Gribbons, and Gunnar Ostergaard among others.
