Piercing Blog 1- Microdermals!

(05/29/2014) Many people out there love the look of dermals, but view them as something to be admired, not had. You may think to yourself that it is too painful, or that you just can't rock it, but this is just not the case! Now that i have decided to call Ocala home, you can get them in the least painful way possible. I have put aside many tools over the years in my quest to grow as a piercer, and fortunately have learned a trick or 3 along the way. i use a different technique and insert dermals into a tiny incision created at the site of the piercing. They heal up quicker and tighter than those inserted via biopsy punch, and, in the event of removal, leave a nominal amount of scar tissue. Because of the techniques I employ, I am one of the few piercers that has received permission from the Marion County Dept. of Health to offer removal services. Oftentimes I will remove an ill-placed dermal, and my new client will come back to have it reinserted after the skin heals.  A word on jewelry: the quality of the metals used in piercings and implants has a huge impact on if and how your piercing heals. I use only high quality, implant-grade metals in my work. 316L surgical stainless steel and G-23 implant grade titanium not only look better, but heal better, too. So it's all i use! Come on down and speak with us today. You'll be glad you did. We also have an on site notary public for parents wishing to allow their children to be tattooed or pierced. Both the parent and child are required to have a state issued photo ID (not school ID).

RAW Papers

(05/05/2014) A pure, less processed rolling paper that is light brown in color because it is blended with unbleached fibers and are extremely thin, so then you can practically see through them. They are the only papers on the market that are totally chlorine free, gluten free, and vegan friendly! Each paper is watermarked with their patented crisscross, this watermark helps prevent runs and helps maintain a smooth even-burning. The papers have a natural gum on them; you only need a little bit of moisture to get them to stick. For the gum they use a blend of the sugar and the acacia gums powder with hemp, which creates less ash and a smoother flavor with a slower burn.  While RAW Classic is already exceptionally clean it can get ‘cleaner’ with RAW Organic, which is made from organically grown chlorine free pure hemp and is processed in a very eco-friendly way which results in an extra slow and extra clean burn. If you are a habitual RAW roller you might want to invest in the RAW 300’s pack. It comes with 300 RAW hemp papers in 1 ¼ size and even gives you a warning when you’re a few papers from running out! The 300s come creaseless so to make your rolling easier create your own crease first. These packs end up saving you money in the long run. If you’re one of those people who like to get crafty RAW also creates a RAW Rolls where each roll contains 9ft of the famous hemp style paper;  So you can choose your favorite sized papers! If you can’t seem to figure out how to roll your papers or simply on the go RAW Cones are perfect. They are pre-rolled papers in a cone shape with tips already put in, so you can enjoy your papers with none of the extra work.  Cones are often hard to find because RAW cones use a water-based gum that takes a long time to dry instead of quick drying chemical glue. The cones have to sit for 24 hours before they can be packed to go, which makes a slow production. RAW brand is all about the natural, they rather produce a small amount of a high quality product than a bunch of mediocre versions. For a roller on the go the RAW Artesano is pretty much the ultimate rolling paper package. It contains the rolling papers, tips, and a pop-out spring loaded rolling tray; all in one that folds up perfectly in your pocket. The RAW tips are made on an antique Fourdrinier paper machine in an old paper mill in Northern China. RAW tips are fiber-based which roll smooth and keep shape in your mouth, plus they don’t dissolve! RAW tips also come pre rolled which is always convenient! All rollers may look alike but after too much use they usually break, while RAW Rollers usually last a life time. The roller is made of German Hemp Plastic while the rolling aprons are double thick vinyl with high tensile strength. Each roller you buy even comes with an extra vinyl! They even have rollers made perfectly for king sized papers.  Another option for a RAW roller is the RAW Rolling Mat. An old school RAW creation made of natural bamboo and is actually really easy to use.

KRATOM: Facts

(04/21/2014) What is kratom? Kratom (Mitragyna Speciosa) is a large tree in the coffee plant species. Kratom thrives in the warm, tropical climates of Southeast Asia, which are a major world export product in many countries. Kratom grows naturally in the lush jungle and rainforests, and is cultivated by peasant farmers in Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, & Bali .It was first documented by Peter Korthals, a Dutch colonial botanist. Kratom is used as a stimulant when taken in low doses and a sedative in large doses.   How safe is kratom? If recommended serving is exceeded it can lead to nausea, upset stomach, and sweats. All products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. If you are pregnant, nursing, taking any prescription medication or OTC’s or find yourself requiring higher than recommended daily serving please consult with your physician.  You must be 18 years of age to purchase, please keep out of the reach of children. Pregnant women should not take any drug or medication except on medical advice. Since there have been no studies of the risks of kratom use by pregnant women, it is not known whether it could cause birth defects or fetal death. We strongly recommend that any woman who could possibly be pregnant NOT use kratom.   What are the effects of kratom? Like said before, kratom in low – moderate doses will be stimulating while larger doses are more sedative. Often, the individual will experience an analgesic effect caused by the alkaloids contained in Kratom and the manner in which the brain receptors are affected. The level of effect, like any other supplement, depends on many factors including body weight, physiological makeup, and tolerance level and so on. When used as a stimulant the individual will experience increased physical energy, alertness, sociability, improved mindset or mood, increased libido, and focus. When used as a sedative an individual will experience a higher pain tolerance, relaxation, and anti-anxiety. Used in excess may result in a prolonged sleep. Is kratom habit forming? Kratom is not habit forming when used in moderation and responsibly. When used in moderation (not daily) there is no documented risk of dependency. . Like many stimulants [e.g. alcohol, coffee, tobacco, etc.], when used daily for a prolonged period of time, could become habit forming. You know your body better than any physician and must be diligent regarding self control. Types of kratom: -Liquid Liquid kratom is basically an extract form of all its active ingredients. Keep in mind that liquid kratom is highly concentrated so you can expect effects to be far more intense than just regular leaf powder and you will feel effects much faster. Best way to take liquid kratom is to fill the dropper or just pour the recommended amount under your tongue and attempt to hold the liquid under your tongue without swallowing for as long as possible.  You can also add the liquid to other beverages and the efficacy will not be diminished. Most people can’t stand the taste so you can even just take a swig and clear your mouth out with a strong flavored drink like a soda. -Powder: Kratom powder is made from dried kratom leaves that are crushed up into a fine powder. You can make it into a tea by just add the recommended amount to hot water and stir until it dissolves, or just add to any of your favorite beverages. -Capsules/Tablets: Capsules or tablets are the easiest way to consume kratom. Each different brand has different recommended amounts so always be aware of how much you’re consuming at a time. Capsules will release faster than tablets will but tablet effects will last a little bit longer. Does kratom contain caffeine? Because kratom belongs to the same plant species as the coffee plant there could be small amounts of natural caffeine. The thing that makes kratom a stimulant are the naturally occurring compounds we call alkaloids in it. The alkaloids inspire your sympathetic nervous system to react resulting in a stimulant effect. Is kratom an opiate? No. Kratom is from the coffee plant family, not the poppy plant family. Does kratom show up on a drug test? No, it’s completely all natural and legal.
