Mathematics Florida Standards (MAFS)
The Florida Standards in Mathematics were approved by the Florida State Board of Education in February, 2014, and fully implement in grades K-12 in the 2014-2015 school calendar year. All Florida schools teach the Florida Standards. As your child advances through grade levels, the Florida Standards in Mathematics are designed to build upon prior learning knowledge, “stair-stepping” the overall educational learning experience in Mathematics. MAFS are broken down into specific domains: Operations and Algebraic Thinking, Number and Operations Base Ten (K-2,3-5) Fractions (3-5), Measurement and Data, and Geometry. Each domain is broken down into descriptive “clusters”. Here at A Plus Educational Services PK12, we are committed to equipping both students and parents with Math Online Resources, Supplemental Math Curriculum Tutoring, and step-by-step instructions for utilizing Progress Monitoring tools individually designed to empower both you and your child in tracking the overall learning experience. These tools are not only used to evaluate your child’s academic performance in Mathematics, but also measure your child’s rate of improvement or responsiveness to instruction over time, providing A Plus with valuable feedback in evaluating effectiveness of instruction.
